Method Technician INTERNSHIP - Industrial Assembly
OceanWings designs, manufactures and markets semi-rigid and rigid wingsails designed for installation on cargo ships, helping to reduce CO2 emissions by cutting fossil fuel consumption.
Context :
Oceanwings® is a French technology start-up driven by a strong desire to reduce the environmental impact of shipping. It develops and supplies a high-performance wind propulsion system called Oceanwings® . We have already completed our first major industrial project (the supply of 4 Oceanwings®) for the Canopée ro-ro vessel, specifically designed to transport Ariane6 parts from Europe to Kourou, operational since 2023.
Oceanwings® is looking for a Methods Technician for its assembly plant in CAEN. You will report directly to the industrial management. You will be the essential ingredient in linking studies and the field!
Missions :
Come and decarbonize the oceans by taking part in the development of Oceanwings® in terms of production methods (handling, lifting, mechanical assembly, mechatronics).
You will participate in defining and optimizing manufacturing processes for mechanical/composite products and associated resources. You guarantee delivery of customer orders, taking into account regulatory standards, safety, quality, costs, deadlines and performance.
You are able to work independently, in pairs, and as part of a multidisciplinary team (Engineering, Production, Logistics, Quality). This includes :
Integration phase:
- Drawing up costed assembly schedules (operations, resources, time, deadlines, means)
- Record, capitalize on and measure the performance of operations in the public access building
- Analyze the completeness of production slips and associated quality checklists.
- Produce exploded views of parts using 3D software when creating method sheets
- Propose production monitoring and analysis tools (dashboards, EXCEL charts)
- Master the logistics supply chain for components (contacting suppliers, management in the workshop, production kit assembly)
- Support production and the start of product industrialization
- Participate in the development of good practices for Oceanwings methods
- Participate in feedback during the production launch period
- Actively participate in continuous improvement
- Respect and enforce HSE rules, ability to communicate and engage in prevention
Profile and skills:
- Training Bac+ 2 or BTS in industrial mechanics or engineering internship
- User of CAD software (ideally Autodesk inventor…)
- Comfortable with IT tools and ability to adapt to the software provided (Production Management / Design / Office)
Language: English (reading technical manuals, writing internal/external documents)
Curiosity, organization and punctuality

Conditions:
Type of contract: BTS internship or 6-month engineering internship (metallurgy collective agreement)
Hours: Monday to Friday during normal working days
- Location: Factory located in the port area of Blainville sur Orne, based in the Normandy Region (Caen)
- Accessibility: Free parking (cars and bicycles)
- Meals: Restaurant vouchers. Canteen available
- Bonus: €1000 to €1500 per month depending on the school.
