Context:
Oceanwings® is a French technology start-up driven by a strong desire to reduce the environmental impact of shipping. It develops and supplies a high-performance wind propulsion system called Oceanwings®. We have already completed our first major industrial project (the supply of 4 Oceanwings® wings) for the roll-on/roll-off ship Canopée, specifically designed to transport Ariane 6 parts from Europe to Kourou, operational since 2023.
Oceanwings® is looking for an Electrical Engineering R&D Technician for the site of its assembly plant in CAEN. You will report to the industrial management and work with the engineers at the design office in Paris. You will be the essential link between the design office and the field!
Tasks:
Come and decarbonize the oceans by participating in the development of Oceanwings® in the design, integration and installation of electrical equipment.
You will be involved in the production phases of various applications (automation, motors, power supplies, sensors, cables, etc.). You will work independently, in pairs and in multidisciplinary teams (after-sales service, design office, production). This includes:
Integration phase:
- Being able to intervene quickly in the event of electrotechnical or mechatronic failures,
- Being proactive in the search for and resolution of anomalies, proposing repair solutions,
- Ensuring the operability of mechatronic systems during the test phases with multidisciplinary teams (software, production, etc.),
- Installing electrical equipment: set-up, cabling, maintenance, repair, modification, improvement, adjustment according to recommendations,
- Providing after-sales service and maintenance for mechatronic equipment
- Alerting to sensitive points and providing reports (feedback, dashboard) to the production manager and the design office
- Contact with suppliers
- Participation in the construction of good practices in Oceanwings electrotechnology
- Organization and maintenance of the operational workstation
Depending on the growth of the company, the position may specialize in more study or integration, depending on the skills/wishes of the person.
Profile and skills:
- 2 years of post-secondary education in industrial electrotechnology (blueprint reading)
- You have at least 2 years of professional field experience in the industry
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical equipment (cables, electrical safety systems, etc.)
- Understanding of mechatronic assembly ranges, plans and diagrams
- Knowledge of offshore/naval/wind power experience will be an advantage
- Rigour, organizational skills, autonomy, versatility and team spirit
- Language: English: basic (reading technical documentation)
- Possibility of occasional travel to national/international ports
Conditions:
- Type of contract: 8-month fixed-term contract (metallurgy collective agreement), non-executive
- 35 hours per week on an annual basis
- Location: Factory located in the port area of Blainville sur Orne, based in the Normandy Region (Caen)
