Naval Architect
OceanWings designs, manufactures and markets semi-rigid and rigid wingsails designed for installation on cargo ships, helping to reduce CO2 emissions by cutting fossil fuel consumption.
..
As an engineer and naval architect, you will be responsible for designing the interfaces (pedestal, tilt and elevator systems) between Oceanwings and our customers' merchant ships.
In order to design these master elements of our systems, you will coordinate the various engineering professions (mechanical, structural, mechatronics and systems engineers) to optimize the design and integration of these interfaces on Oceanwings customers' boats.
You will also interact with shipowners, shipyards and naval architects to identify integration issues and capitalize on them in product specifications.
These interactions will also enable you to play the role of technical sales engineer to support our sales team in promoting our innovative propulsion system. Lastly, you will contribute to optimizing the design of our technologies by sharing your exchanges with industry stakeholders.
Significant activities :
Interface design manager ships
- Write specifications that meet customer expectations
- Define the 'integration and foundation concepts (pedestals, bascules, elevators) that meet the previously established specifications.
- Monitor and coordinate the various engineering trades (mechanical, structural, mechatronics, systems) on ship foundation and interface projects.
- Guide strategic technical choices (materials, processes, actuators, software) in line with performance objectives (aerodynamics, quality, deadlines and costs), regulations and safety, in coordination with the engineering manager.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering and production teams, and relevant external industry players to ensure the technical feasibility of projects
Technical support for sales and marketing
- Summarise customer challenges and translate them into product specifications and technical presentations tailored to specific vessels with specific constraints.
- Develop language for shipowners, shipyards and naval architects.
- Assist customers in integrating our propulsion system into their projects, taking into account mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and structural aspects (ie: provide GAs with our integrated wings in an adapted manner during the sales cycle)
